Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 6500 introduces a more flexible process for foster families relocating to new homes. It now allows foster licenses to remain valid for thirty days after a move, even if there are no children in the home at that time, as long as the new location meets minimum standards and a home inspection is completed within thirty days. This change matters because it aims to reduce the number of foster home licenses that are closed due to relocation issues, thereby helping to maintain stable foster care options for children in Washington.
