Plain-language change summary

The amendment to HB 561 expands the definition of a school crisis, emergency management, and medical emergency response plan by including more specific types of emergencies such as cardiac arrest and incidents of terrorism. It emphasizes the need for updated contact information for key emergency management agencies, ensuring a quick response in critical situations. These changes matter because they aim to enhance safety protocols in schools, preparing them better for a wider range of potential emergencies and ensuring that proper support can be accessed promptly when needed.
