Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 277 establishes a task force within the Board of Health to focus on speeding up the review process for certain health projects that are generally accepted and not contentious. Specifically, it aims to include recommendations on adding more facilities and types of projects, particularly those related to psychiatric care, to this expedited process. This change is significant because it seeks to enhance access to mental health services by reducing delays that could hinder the development of needed facilities. The task force is required to meet at least four times and will report its findings by November 1, 2024.
