Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to HB 1948 changes the start date for state transfers to support local warehousing and manufacturing job centers from July 1, 2019, to July 1, 2020, and extends the end date for these transfers from July 1, 2030, to July 1, 2031. This is important because it gives communities an additional year of support to recover from losses resulting from changes in sales tax laws. The adjustments aim to provide more adequate funding to maintain essential infrastructure and jobs in these critical areas of the economy. Overall, this extension helps ensure that impacted communities receive the financial assistance they need for a longer period.
