Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 802 includes a change in the horsepower requirement for farming equipment, lowering it from 35 horsepower units to 20. This adjustment makes the bill applicable to a wider range of farming operations, potentially offering more protections to smaller farms. Additionally, it clarifies the civil liabilities of suppliers if they fail to properly terminate contracts, ensuring that dealers can recover losses and related expenses more effectively. This matters because it strengthens consumer protection in the farming industry, helping smaller businesses navigate supplier relationships more confidently.
