Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 778 removes references to three specific offenses: §61-2-9c, §61-2-9d, and §61-2-10, which were previously included as qualifying offenses that could enhance sentences for repeat offenders. This change simplifies the list of qualifying offenses, focusing on those deemed more relevant. The reduction in the number of offenses matters because it potentially alters how repeat offenders are sentenced, impacting both legal outcomes and the judicial process.
