Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 474 clarify and formalize the structure of the School Construction Fund in Virginia. It establishes this fund as a dedicated source for financing school building projects and ensures that any leftover money at the end of the fiscal year stays within the fund for future use. This matters because it provides a more reliable means to support and enhance educational facilities, particularly in areas with joint or regional schools. Overall, these changes help ensure that funds are managed effectively and directly benefit schools and students.
