Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill SB 5362 introduce a deferred prosecution program for individuals cited for failing to register their vehicles, vessels, or aircraft in Washington. This means that if a person pays a fine and shows proof of valid registration within 90 days, their citation can be dismissed, which provides a second chance for those who may have missed registration without necessarily facing severe penalties. The goal of this amendment is to encourage compliance with registration laws, potentially increasing revenue for the state and ensuring better public safety.
