Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill SB 5395 sets a clear timeline for implementing comprehensive sexual health education in Washington public schools. Specifically, it establishes that this education must begin for grades six through twelve by September 1, 2020, and for grades kindergarten through five by September 1, 2021, ensuring full state-wide implementation by that date. This change is important because it emphasizes a gradual rollout, allowing schools to prepare effectively, while ensuring that all students receive this essential education that supports their well-being and understanding of healthy relationships.
