Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 1448 specifies that the funding provided under the veterans service officer program will not only help establish local veterans service officers in eligible counties but will also support their ongoing maintenance. Additionally, the funding is now limited to supporting the equivalent of one full-time veterans service officer per eligible county. This change is significant as it ensures that these officers have stable support and resources, ultimately enhancing the services available to veterans in underserved areas.
