The updated version of SB 1031 has changed the funding amount for the Consolidated State Laboratory from $175 million to $125 million. This reduction in the appropriation means that the laboratory will have less money available for its operations and projects in the upcoming fiscal year. This is significant because it may limit the laboratory's capacity to develop services or respond to public health needs adequately. Less funding could impact the overall effectiveness of services that rely on this laboratory.
