Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to House Bill 1379 primarily focus on improving transparency in political advertising. The updated version lowers the threshold for identifying the top contributors from $1,000 to $700, ensuring that more contributors are disclosed to the public, which can help voters better understand who is funding political campaigns. This adjustment aims to combat misleading practices where political action committees obscure the true sources of campaign funding, thereby strengthening public trust in the electoral process.
