Plain-language change summary

In the updated version of Bill HB 1155, two significant changes were made regarding meal and rest breaks for healthcare employees. First, the criteria allowing employers to interrupt these breaks now includes specific clinical circumstances, ensuring that employee breaks are uninterrupted unless immediate patient care is at risk. Second, the bill clarifies that employers must keep detailed records of when employees take or miss their breaks, which can help ensure compliance with these new regulations. These changes aim to improve working conditions for healthcare staff, helping to ensure they receive adequate rest while still providing crucial patient care.
