Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 489 changes the age range for providing free feminine hygiene products to female students, expanding it from grades six through 12 to include grades three through 12. This is important because it ensures that younger students who may also need these products have access to them at no cost, helping to address issues of hygiene and dignity during their menstrual cycles. Additionally, the bill specifies how county boards of education must provide these products discreetly, ensuring that students can access them in a respectful manner.
