Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill HB 1684 clarify the debarment process for employers who misclassify workers. Now, when the Department determines an employer misclassified an employee, they will notify relevant public bodies and institutions without allowing the employer to apply for relief at that stage. This change emphasizes accountability and ensures that employers who repeatedly violate worker classification laws face more stringent penalties, which could improve protections for workers.
