Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 1122 clarifies the purpose of the Open-Space Lands Preservation Trust Fund by specifying that grants can be provided to localities for acquiring land rights as well as to individuals donating conservation easements to nonprofit land trusts. This change is important because it broadens the scope of funding available for land preservation efforts, making it easier for local communities and organizations to access resources for protecting agricultural and open spaces.
