Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill SB 1066 modify the schedule for a historic rehabilitation tax credit in Virginia. Specifically, the amendment raised the percentage of eligible expenses for certain years and eliminated a restriction that prevented some out-of-state residents from receiving tax credits until 2002. These updates make it easier for individuals and businesses to receive financial incentives for restoring historic structures, which encourages preservation efforts and boosts local economies.
