The recent amendments to Bill HB 1504 clarify that the Joint Commission on Technology and Science will actively consider the issue of unwanted telephone solicitation and text messages rather than just conducting a study. This shift emphasizes proactive engagement and means the Commission is expected to provide concrete recommendations on how phone solicitors can allow individuals to opt-out of such communications. These changes highlight the importance of protecting consumers from annoying and unsolicited contact, which many people find intrusive.
