The recent amendment to Bill SB 1061 introduces changes to the public hearing procedures for private activity bonds in Virginia. Key changes include an adjustment to the minimum notice period before a hearing, which is now clearly stated as between six and seven days, allowing for better clarity and consistency. This matters because it ensures that the public has adequate time to prepare for and participate in hearings that affect their communities, promoting transparency and public involvement in financial decisions.
