The revised bill SB 987 introduces a requirement for periodic review hearings for guardianship and conservatorship cases in Virginia. Specifically, the court must schedule these reviews to occur no later than one year after the initial appointment and at least every three years thereafter. This change is significant because it ensures ongoing oversight of guardianship arrangements, allowing for adjustments as necessary and helping to protect the rights and well-being of individuals deemed incapacitated.
