The recent amendments to HB 2137 shift the focus from early student literacy and specific reading intervention materials to a broader approach aimed at developing a comprehensive statewide educational plan. This plan will emphasize improving overall student achievement, particularly for educationally at-risk students, and will include strategies for integrating technology into public school curricula. These changes are significant as they address not only literacy but also the wider educational needs and technology integration in Virginia schools.
