Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill SB 1149 updates the sections concerning water resource management in Virginia. Specifically, it reaffirms that plans for managing water resources must cover each major river basin, including the Potomac and its subbasins, and emphasizes the importance of assessing water withdrawals and necessary flow levels during droughts. This change underscores the state's commitment to ensuring sustainable water use and protecting aquatic ecosystems, which is crucial for both environmental health and local communities.
