The amendment to Bill HB 2010 updates the powers of the Virginia Employment Commission, specifically enhancing its authority regarding investigations. It now allows the Commissioner to authorize attorneys employed by the Commission to issue subpoenas to gather evidence for disputed claims. This change matters because it strengthens the Commission's ability to enforce regulations and ensure compliance, potentially leading to more efficient resolution of unemployment claims.
