The amended bill now specifies that the best practice standards developed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services will include detailed information about which records related to special education, services, or accommodations must be transferred when students with disabilities reach the age of majority. It also states that these standards will provide instructional guidance on how and when to carry out this transfer before the student turns 18. This change clarifies the content and purpose of the standards, ensuring that stakeholders have explicit information to facilitate the transition process for affected students.
