Plain-language change summary

The updated version of the bill SB 1146 clarifies that every early childhood care and education center must develop clear policies for having and administering epinephrine to children who might be experiencing an allergic reaction. It specifies that at least one trained staff member or nurse must have access to epinephrine during regular hours, and family day home providers are also required to inform parents whether they store epinephrine on site. These changes are significant because they enhance the safety of young children by ensuring that rapid treatment is available in emergencies.
