Plain-language change summary

The main change in Bill SB 926 is the introduction of a new program called the Emergency Department Care Management Grant Program, which aims to provide grants to hospitals that help manage the care of frequent users of emergency departments. The bill now includes a requirement for the Department to evaluate the program's effectiveness and report findings to the General Assembly by October 2027. These adjustments matter because they emphasize not just financial support for hospitals but also accountability in measuring how well the program helps reduce unnecessary emergency room visits and improve patient care management.
