The revised version of SB 751 introduces a Standardized Health Care Academy Program aimed at training high school students for careers in healthcare fields. Key changes include the adjustment of when students can start being prepared for this program, shifting from the eighth grade to the sixth grade. Additionally, the guidelines for students not meeting eligibility criteria have been clarified, highlighting that schools can use state and local funds for tuition. This matters because it broadens access to healthcare education at an earlier stage, potentially increasing the number of skilled workers in the field.
