Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 429 involve the addition of a mobile application intended to connect users directly to the 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline, ensuring confidentiality for individuals who use it. Additionally, the Department of State Police will develop an application to allow people to submit confidential tips related to criminal activities, including bullying and school violence. These changes are significant because they enhance mental health support and public safety resources in the Commonwealth, giving citizens better tools for seeking help and reporting concerns.
