Plain-language change summary

The amendment to HB 2133 clarifies the qualifications for hiring personnel in the Fire Marshal's office by specifying that they must be selected based on education or experience in fire safety laws and regulations. This change aims to ensure that those in charge of fire prevention and safety have the necessary training and expertise. Additionally, the amendment emphasizes the authority of the State Fire Marshal over state-owned properties and maintains the restrictions on carrying firearms. These updates are important for enhancing fire safety measures and ensuring effective enforcement of fire prevention codes in Virginia.
