Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 1504 clarifies and simplifies the process for individuals required to register as sex offenders to be removed from the registry. Now, people with a single Tier I or Tier II offense can request removal after a specific waiting period, provided they meet certain criteria regarding their criminal history. This change is significant because it offers a clearer pathway for those who have made positive changes in their lives to reintegrate into society without the burden of being on the registry.
