The amendments made to HB 2260 update the membership structure of the Peninsula Airport Commission. Specifically, the revised bill clarifies the number of members from different localities, allowing for an additional member for every 65,000 residents based on the latest census data. This change is significant because it ensures that the representation on the Commission reflects population changes, potentially leading to better decision-making and more equitable resource allocation for the airport’s governance. Additionally, the repeal of outdated sections from prior laws streamlines the Commission's framework for the present day.
