Plain-language change summary

The updated version of § 58.1-322.02 of the Code of Virginia clarifies the types of income that can be subtracted in computing Virginia taxable income. Specifically, it removes the phrase about obligations exempt from state income taxes under federal law, and simplifies the language regarding income derived from federal obligations. These changes could affect how certain income types are calculated for state tax purposes, potentially impacting the filing process for individuals.
