The amendments to SB 54 clarify and reaffirm the structure and appointment process for the Chesapeake Airport Authority. The changes primarily involve updating the text to reflect clearer language about the membership terms and the appointing authority, specifically noting that all members will be appointed by the Chesapeake city council. This matters because it ensures a more straightforward governance structure and reinforces local control over the authority managing the airport.
