The bill SB 377 has been updated to change the timing and terms of the elections for the mayor and council members in the Town of Vienna. Specifically, elections that were originally scheduled to take place in May 2022 will now occur on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November 2023. Additionally, the terms for the mayor and council members have been standardized to two years starting from January 2024, aligning more closely with the general election schedule. These changes matter because they streamline the election process and provide a clearer timeline for both candidates and voters.
