The recent updates to Senate Bill 5788 clarify the definition of "service animal trainer" and specify that the emotional support provided by an animal does not count as work or tasks. This is important because it reinforces the distinction between service animals and emotional support animals, ensuring that only properly trained service animals are recognized for specific purposes. Additionally, the definition of "sexual orientation" now explicitly includes gender expression or identity, which reflects a broader understanding of these concepts and promotes inclusivity.
