What changed in the latest version
34 added · 30 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of House Bill 1306 clarifies the penalties for various offenses related to firearms without serial numbers. It now specifies that selling or distributing firearms with removed or altered serial numbers is treated more seriously, now classified as a Class 6 felony, compared to the previous classification as a Class 1 misdemeanor. This change is significant because it signals a tougher stance on firearms regulation, aiming to deter the illegal trade of untraceable weapons and enhance public safety.
