The recent amendment to the Virginia Public Procurement Act allows state public bodies to submit bids electronically through the eVA system. This change encourages local public bodies to also offer electronic bidding options. The shift to electronic submissions aims to streamline the procurement process, making it more efficient and accessible for both state and local entities. This matters because it can help save time and resources, ultimately benefiting taxpayers and improving transparency in government contracting.
