The revised version of the bill HB 970 includes important clarifications regarding the privacy of personal donor information and public records. Specifically, it states that certain information about public employees, like salaries and job classifications, remains accessible to the public, while also ensuring that individuals can consent to the release of their own personal information. This change is significant because it balances the need for transparency in public service with individuals' rights to privacy, making it clear how personal information can be handled under the law.
