In the updated version of Senate Bill 5096, the provision to create an inventory of employee-owned businesses has been removed. Instead, the bill now focuses on establishing a revolving loan program to help small businesses transition to employee ownership, specifically through employee stock ownership plans and worker cooperatives. This change streamlines the bill's objectives, emphasizing the financial support available to facilitate such transitions, which could enhance stability and growth for small businesses as they move towards employee ownership.
