The amendment to SB 407 changes the language concerning disability insurance related to childbirth. Specifically, it removes the requirement for insurers to provide "a payable benefit of at least 12 weeks immediately following childbirth" and instead states insurers must provide coverage for "payable benefit of at least 12 weeks" without specifying that it must be for "immediately following childbirth." This distinction may impact how benefits are structured and when they become available to policyholders.
