What changed in the latest version
28 added · 28 removedPlain-language change summary
The latest version of SB 17 introduces clearer language regarding exemptions from training requirements for law enforcement officers and related personnel based on their previous experience and cultural sensitivity training. Notably, it emphasizes that officers who have had a break in service of less than 60 months and are eligible for retirement can skip certain mandatory training. This change is important as it could streamline the re-hiring process for experienced officers and potentially address staffing shortages in law enforcement by making it easier for qualified individuals to return to the field.
