The amendment to § 15.2-6407 of the Code of Virginia clarifies that member localities can create revenue and economic growth-sharing agreements related to tax revenues for facilities owned by either an authority or a non-authority, specifically in the context of interstate cooperation for economic and workforce development. Additionally, the updated text specifies that the Department of Taxation's calculations for local ability-to-pay will account for how real property tax revenue is divided between localities in these agreements. This change helps streamline revenue sharing while ensuring that tax calculations reflect the agreed-upon arrangements between localities.
