The recent amendment to SB 265 establishes a new section in the Code of Virginia that focuses on language development resources for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. It creates an advisory committee composed mainly of individuals with relevant experience, including parents and educators, to help define developmental milestones for these children from birth to age five. This change is important because it aims to enhance support for families, ensuring children receive appropriate guidance to develop their language skills effectively.
