The recent amendments to HB 1909 increased the number of pharmacist members on the committee from nine to ten while removing a provision that allowed one public member to also be an owner or operator of a pharmacy. Additionally, the changes clarify that three of the public members should not have any ties to the pharmacy sector. These adjustments aim to strengthen the representation of licensed pharmacists in decision-making while ensuring that public members maintain a clear separation from the pharmacy industry, which can help promote unbiased perspectives in health care discussions.
