The latest version of HB 1311 adds a requirement for credit services organizations to provide an accounting of funds paid by consumers that they hold or disburse on the consumer's behalf, which enhances transparency. Additionally, it simplifies the language regarding misleading statements made to credit reporting agencies and others, making it clearer that consumers must have a good faith belief in the accuracy of any disputes they submit. These changes aim to protect consumers from deceptive practices and ensure they receive accurate information about their financial services.
