What changed in the latest version
12 added · 13 removedPlain-language change summary
In the latest version of SB 5623, the term "swastika" has been replaced with a more comprehensive phrase that includes "Nazi emblem, symbol, or hakenkreuz." This change broadens the description to encompass various Nazi symbols, not just the swastika, which emphasizes the legislation's intent to address hate symbols in a more inclusive manner. This matters because it enhances the effectiveness of the bill in combating hate speech and extremist symbolism by recognizing the different forms these can take.
