Plain-language change summary

The amended version of SB 5753 changes the terminology from "Lummi Nation" to "Lummi Tribe of the Lummi Reservation" in several places throughout the bill. This alteration is not just a matter of wording; it is significant as it reflects a desire for clarity and accuracy in recognizing the tribe's status and governance. By using the term "tribe," the amendment emphasizes the local governance structure and may foster a better partnership between the state and the Lummi community in the proposed road construction project.
