Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 5657 clarifies the definition of "kit homes" by removing specific inspection requirements and simplifying the language. It now states that kit homes must meet life, health, and safety standards for at least ten years, without detailing the inspection process. This change matters because it simplifies the regulations, potentially making it easier for manufacturers to meet standards, which could encourage more kit home construction and address housing needs.
