Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill SB 540 added a section about the adjutant general's responsibility to manage a new child care assistance program for members of the Michigan National Guard. It also clarifies the definitions of terms related to the program but does not change the overall intent of the legislation. This matters because it emphasizes the state's commitment to supporting National Guard members with their childcare needs, which can be crucial for service members balancing military duties with family responsibilities.
