The latest version of SB 96 includes a clarification about the notification system for security devices used on doors. It expands on the requirement, stating that the device must provide notification of its location and placement during a lockdown. This change emphasizes safety during emergencies, ensuring that responders can quickly identify and address security measures in place. Additionally, the removal of a previous line specifies that the system cannot be installed on doors leading directly outside from corridors, which further tightens safety protocols in child care centers.
